We are thrilled to let you know about the Kick-off Meeting of the Elevate-HER project at the University of Alicante (UA), from 23th to 30th April 2024
From April 23 to 30, 2024, UA hosted the Kick-off Meeting and Study Visit for Elevate-HER, a project co-funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ program.
Elevate-HER brings together an international consortium, comprising:
• 4 Senegalese universities: Université Amadou Mahtar MBOW (UAM), Université du Sine Saloum El-Hadj Ibrahima NIASS (USSEIN), Université Iba Der Thiam de Thiès (UIDT), Université Gaston-Berger (UGB) ;
• 1 French university: Université Jean Monnet (UJM;
• 1 Spanish NGO: Association théâtrale La Xixa de Barcelon ;
• The University of Alicante, leading the project coordination

The Kick-off Meeting and Study Visit was graced by Rosa María Martínez Espinosa, Vice-Rector for International Relations at the University of Alicante. A thought-provoking panel discussion titled "HER Academic Story" featured distinguished female researchers from partner universities, including :
• Dr. Fatou Bintou Sarr (Université Iba der Thiam de Thiès, Senegal)
• Dr. Fatou Diop Sall (Université Gaston Berger, Senegal)
• Dr. Elodie Giesèle Anoumedem Mouafo (Cameroon)
• Dr. Bukola Omotomilola Adetola (Nigeria)
• Dr. Raquel Huete Nieves (University of Alicante)
This event marks the successful launch of Elevate-HER, a project dedicated to promoting gender equality in higher education.
